The poster is 24″ x 36″, and offset printed in two colors on 100lb Finch Opaque Bright White.
All Streets consists of 240 million individual road segments. No other features—no outlines, cities, or types of terrain—are marked, yet canyons and mountains emerge as the roads course around them, and sparser webs of road mark less populated areas.
This project is originally from 2007. More details on the first version can be found here, with additional background here. After many requests, we began selling prints sometime in 2011. All proceeds are donated to charity, and you can read about some of the charities we've supported in the past.
A detail of the West Coast shows the relative lack of roads in mountainous areas, punctuated by the densely populated Bay Area.
Roadless terrain forms the topography of the Appalachian Mountains.
Prints to be proofed emerge from this end of the offset press. During the run, the posters are pulled and checked for consistent ink density.
